Volunteer Update 6

Update 6 to Volunteers – 24th April 2020

We, as coordinators, continue to be thanked for the wonderful work YOU ARE DOING for so many elderly/vulnerable folks in our village. We wish to pass on that thanks to you all.

Shielding - If you know of someone who should be part of the government’s ‘shielding’ programme, but has not received a letter, you can register on behalf of someone else if they do not have access to the internet:

Brockenhurst WI Branch – are making face coverings. See our news section.

New Forest Basics Bank – below is a list of items which they are short of. Please ensure that items are ‘in date’:

Tins of meats e.g. mince, chicken curry
Tuna (tinned)
Rice
Pasta sauce
Rice Pudding (tinned)
Custard (tinned)
Sugar
J-cloths
Shampoo
Long life milk

Sainsbury’s have apparently just launched a Volunteer Shopping Card to make it easier for people to shop for others – this is now available online.

Brockenhurst Parish Magazine – The May edition of the magazine is now available online in pdf form at https://www.brockenhurstchurch.com/newsinfo/parish-magazine with a link on the homepage. We will endeavour to provide ‘hard copies’ for those subscribers who do not have access to the internet.

A message to those of you who have offered to drive people to medical appointments: Sue Hendry (Brockenhurst Care Cars Coordinator, 623543), now has some suitable masks available.
