Sunday 14th February - Spotlight Prayers

Sunday 14th February  -  Sunday next before Lent

Collect
Almighty Father,
whose Son was revealed in majesty
before he suffered death upon the cross:
give us grace to perceive his glory,
that we may be strengthened to suffer with him
and be changed into his likeness, from glory to glory;
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.  Amen.

Please pray for everyone involved in today’s services.

Please pray and give thanks for the members of the Fabric Committee who serve our church family by looking after the practicalities of caring for our buildings.

Pray for the Friends of Brockenhurst and the work they do.  Pray for wisdom as they seek to care for the village.

We pray for all children and young people at our local schools and colleges as they approach the half-term holiday this week. May they and all who teach them, benefit from a time of rest and relaxation.  We pray that there will be clarity on progress of the Coronavirus so that it will enable the full opening of our schools.

Pray for all who live in Rhinefield Road.

Keep us, good Lord, under the shadow of your mercy
in this time of uncertainty and distress.
Sustain and support the anxious and fearful,
and lift up all who are brought low;
that we may rejoice in your comfort knowing that nothing
can separate us from your love in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen

Mission of the Month: SAT-7.
Tajikistan is focusing on mental health issues at this time with a programme in Tajik, a dialect of Persian, called ‘Mental and Spiritual Health’ and the presenters are both Doctors.  We need to pray for them as they want to raise awareness of mental health issues and enable people to recognise signs of depression ‘even in the Church’.
