Sunday 25th October - Spotlight Prayers

Sunday 25th October – Last Sunday after Trinity

Collect

Blessed Lord,
who caused all holy Scriptures to be written for our learning:
help us so to hear them,
to read, mark, learn and inwardly digest them
that, through patience, and the comfort of your holy word,
we may embrace and for ever hold fast
      the hope of everlasting life,
which you have given us in our Saviour Jesus Christ,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.  Amen.

Pray for

  1. We pray especially for the Bereavement Service next Sunday and all who have been bereaved and are suffering the loss of a loved one.
  2. We give thanks for the members of the Sanctuary Guild team who work quietly in the background preparing for our weekly services.
  3. Pray for the valuable work of Christian Aid and Traidcraft, remembering especially those in our village who work so hard on their behalf.
  4. We pray for all children and young people at our local schools and college as they enjoy the half-term week. May they and all who teach them, benefit from a time of rest and relaxation.
  5. Pray for all who live in Lymington Road & Burley Road.
  6. Mission of the Month: Bible Society - Bible Society has suffered from reduced income during the pandemic. Please pray for all mission partners and supporters of Bible Society, that new resources will be found to finance mission and to care for overseas staff, particularly those in the poorest countries.
