Sunday 2nd August - Spotlight Prayers

Sunday 2nd August – Eighth Sunday after Trinity

Almighty Lord and everlasting God,
we beseech you to direct, sanctify and govern
      both our hearts and bodies
in the ways of your laws
      and the works of your commandments;
that through your most mighty protection, both here and ever,
we may be preserved in body and soul;
through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.

  1. Lord, we thank you for Brockcare's volunteers and all other volunteers from our community who have worked tirelessly in recent months to support those in need in our village during the Coronavirus outbreak.

Throughout these testing times, Lord, we acknowledge your presence with each of us. We know that everything we are able to do is done only in your strength. Thank you for every word of friendship exchanged, for every act of kindness carried out, for every concern dealt with, for every prayer answered.

We thank you for the opportunities we have to be of service to those around us, and through that service, a chance to reflect your love, compassion and grace to all. We pledge ourselves to continue to serve others wherever we can.

Lord, we thank you that through dark days your light has continued to shine in the hearts, minds and actions of so many in our village, bringing comfort and love to those in need.

  1. Pray for the Hotels, Guest Houses and Bed & Breakfast residences serving the village, pray that their business will recover after the Coronavirus outbreak.
